PRODUCTION NOTES

Youssef was contracted by the restaurant’s owner to shoot a 0:30 spot for this terrific Afghan restaurant (located in Morristown, NJ) that eventually aired on the News 12 New Jersey cable network in 2006.

Youssef was given the spot screenplay and Afghan music before the shoot—which took place in 3 hours one summer evening with nothing more than his Sony MiniDV camera, a tripod and plenty of extension cords.  Lighting was limited to the restaurant’s available lighting schema, which was versatile enough to get the job done.  All post-production duties were handled by Youssef at The MoonStar Film Odyssey studio (Cliffside Park, NJ) (www.moonstarfilmodyssey.com), while the voiceover work was performed by the talented Ms. Louise Kobiliak (contact: genhospsoapfan@aol.com) of Westchester County, NY.

In the end, the spot was a success, and the restaurant gained more customers over time.  In the intervening years since, the original owner sold the business to younger family members, who have moved the restaurant to another location within Morristown.
